There are certain restaurants that live on your culinary bucket list for years \u2014 Piazza Duomo was one of mine. A three-Michelin-star experience set in the heart of Alba, a land where food is culture and wine is art. My expectations were sky-high.<\/span><\/p>\n

The entrance is subtle, almost hidden, facing the main square. But once inside, the welcome is warm and attentive. The dining room, bright and contemporary, felt inviting \u2014 though I must confess, I have a soft spot for dimmed lights and a more intimate glow.<\/span><\/p>\n

The wine list? As vast and refined as you\u2019d expect. I stayed classic and chose a must: Gaja \u2014 iconic, expressive, and always a pleasure.<\/span>
\nThe tasting menu had a strong visual appeal, with creative nods to the world of art \u2014 a nice touch. Still, I had hoped for a deeper connection to the region, something that celebrated the local roots with bold reinterpretation.<\/span>
\nDesserts were pleasant but didn\u2019t leave a lasting impression. And while the service was impeccable, the mise en place lacked that wow factor I was quietly hoping for.<\/span><\/p>\n

All in all, a good experience.\u00a0<\/span>
\nIt didn\u2019t quite stir my soul, but it was worth the stop \u2014 a solid chapter in my culinary journey.<\/span><\/p>\n

Still the company made all the difference. After all, it’s the feeling you take with you that counts.<\/p>\n
